Sawdust stuffed toys

Sawdust stuffed toys

Sawdust stuffed toys are filled with sawdust produced during the process of manufacturing waribashi (disposable chopsticks) from thinned cedar logs.

While excavating a burial mound in Iwaki City in 1948, a student from Fukushima Prefectural Iwaki High School discovered a statue of a young man sitting cross legged that was later named an Important Cultural Property. This unique terracotta figure is the motif for our Kofun-sama Premium stuffed toy, which is filled with particularly fragrant cedar sawdust made from thinned cedar wood grown in Iwaki. It will inspire you to think of ancient times long gone by!

* Kofun-sama Premium was developed under the supervision of Fukushima Prefectural Iwaki High School’s History Department.
